Two ways to reduce

The tool reserves space for audio and the MP4 container, estimates a conservative video bitrate, and checks the finished file. If the first result exceeds the selected limit, it can make one lower-bitrate retry.
Quality mode is useful when an exact file size matters less than a predictable resolution cap. Smaller uses up to 480p, Balanced up to 720p, and Better quality up to 1080p. The tool does not upscale the source resolution, and it avoids intentionally giving a low-bitrate source a larger video budget.
Preserve useful detail
Start with the least aggressive setting that meets your sharing limit. If a service accepts files up to 25 MB, choosing 25 MB usually preserves more detail than forcing the same video below 10 MB.
Use Balanced for a general-purpose result, Smaller when file size matters most, and Better quality when the source contains fine detail or will be viewed on a larger screen. Compression cannot add detail that is missing from the source, so a higher preset does not improve a low-resolution original.
After processing, play the downloaded MP4 and check motion, text, faces, and audio before sharing it. If the result looks too soft, choose a larger target or a higher quality preset and try again.
Built around your privacy
